I do not have a clinic...many psychiatrists in Jordan can diagnose ADHD through a battery of tests. I wish you well. Thank you for visiting my site.

Sir,
I am a 22 year old male. I want to know whether you have any facilities for diagnosis of adult ADHD and what will be the charges for the same if one were to come in for the checkup of the same?

What I have been experiencing is listed below and is consistent with the symptoms of ADHD that I found in an article. Although i may be wrong.
1. I have a very noisy head. There are multiple completely random thoughts always present in my head.
2. I have trouble falling asleep.
3. I simply cannot keep my focus while I am doing something.
4. When others are talking, I sometimes wander off mentally.
5. I often doubt what I did 5 minutes ago as to whether I did it or not. Like locking my car.
6. When I am reading a book that interests me, nothing else registers in my brain. Outside surroundings cease to exist.
7.I do not wish to sit still. Even if I physically manage to sit still, my brain does not sit still at all.

Glad you know now Jennifer :-) You did not harm your child's health or yours for not doing so. The antibiotic dose for you sinus infection is NOT a large dose. This is the correct dose to cure your sinus infection. Any dose lower than that will not cure the infection. Probiotics have been shown to help ease the side effects of antibiotics, such as diarrhea and fungal infections such as vaginal yeast infections. If you don't take probiotics or eat yogurt while taking antibiotics, nothing "bad" will happen. Doing so will help replenish the good bacteria that get killed by taking antibiotics. Sometimes, people who take antibiotics develop a yeast infection so yogurt (probiotics) can help prevent them.

C diff is a relatively hard bacteria to eliminate as evident in his recent reinfection. And the antibiotics used to clear the infection can wipe all the good bacteria making it hard for the body to aid the antibiotics in fighting off the C diff. Probiotics should be started the day he starts antibiotics and continued for at least 2 weeks after he finishes the antibiotic course. Do not give him the probiotics at the same time as you give him the antibiotics since the antibiotics will not only kill the C diff bacteria (the bad bacteria), but also the good bacteria (i.e. probiotics). Give the probiotics 2 hours before or after giving him the antibiotics. In other words, space the probiotics 2 hours apart from the antibiotics. You should give him the probiotic everyday, multiple times a day (according to package directions) and not just here and there. It is safe for kids as long as they are not immunocompromised. Hope this helps and good luck.

i was never told eating yogurt while on antibiotic was beneficial. i do see how important it is to replenish the good bacteria. i wish i had only known. i am hoping that i have not harmed my children's health nor mine from not doing so. i was recently on 500 mg 4 times a day of cephalexin for a sinus infection. Is this a large dose and what is the worst that would happen if i had not taken a probiotic?

My little boy who is 6 years old had C - diff about 6 months ago and just recently it came back after 6 months. He is on the 14 day medicine for it right now but I'm thinking about also adding the liquid form of probiotic to his daily diet. Would it be wise to start him on the probiotic while he is on the meds for his c diff or should i wait until he is all done with this medicine and then start? Once he started the probiotic would it be safe to take it every day like you would a children's vitamin or is this just a once in awhile type of remedy you do here and there and last is it relatively safe for young children with what possible side effects? thank you, Patty

It is not quite known how long probiotics stay in the body. Some studies show that as soon as you stop taking them, they will no longer be there. Some studies show that the effects may continue for 2 to 4 weeks after taking them.
